If you own a smartphone, there is a very good chance you have had to deal with a broken screen. According to a survey by mobile device manufacturer Motorola, exactly 50% of people across the globe have had the misfortune to experience this nightmare. It’s unfortunate, but odds are you may one day be dealing with a cracked screen on your smartphone. When it does, DISH can be at your door almost instantly to fix it.
DISH understands how critical these devices are and has recently begun offering a service that will repair the screens. The best part is that users will not have to leave their house in order to get back up and running with a fresh, unbroken screen for their smartphone.
Back in May, DISH deployed a fleet of mobile technicians across the entire United States that are capable of fixing iPhone screens for anyone – not just those who subscribe to the satellite television provider. These trained experts will visit any home or business across all 50 states to repair broken screens or replace drained batteries.
This service is available to everyone for a small fee and can be accessed by visiting the DISH site here: http://www.dish.com/smart-phone-repair. Visitors are able to get same- or next-day service and track their technician’s arrival with an interactive map that includes name, photo and minute-by-minute countdown. The cost, just $128.99 before tax for a screen replacement and $73.99 for a battery change, is extremely affordable compared to some competitors.
There are some minor drawbacks to this service. For now, DISH is only offering this program for Apple iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, 6 and 6 plus models—but there are plans to expand it to include additional smartphone devices and accessories in the coming months. You will also need to fork over a one-time, $35 “drive to me” travel fee that covers the repairs for as many devices as you need fixed. This is a small price to pay for the convenience of on-site repairs when you need them.
If you’ve ever had to deal with the pain of losing your phone for an extended period of time when sending it away for service or driven countless miles to a service center and back, you will definitely understand the value that this new program from DISH provides. If you haven’t— consider yourself lucky and keep this in mind if something ever does happen to your phone.
